New Cafeteria Computer System

The following process will be used: Students at elementary schools will state their names to the Food Service Worker at the cashier station, and the cashier will complete the Transaction. For Elementary students bringing a meal from home, the Food Services Division has introduced a bundling option: They can get a supplemental meal of fresh fruits, vegetables, and milk. Students at middle and high schools will use their school ID to scan their barcode at the cashier terminal. If a student forgets their school ID, a Food Service Workers can look up their name to complete the transaction. In addition to the Heartland Solutions Newton System, we have introduced several new menu options, such as the birria bowl, walking taco nachos, fresh salads, banh mi sandwiches, and orange chicken and broccoli rice bowl, and we ask you to encourage your students to eat school meals. Vegan and vegetarian options are served daily. Additionally, we encourage you to download the YumYummi app on your smartphone, which provides daily cafeteria menus in digital form for all schools. It is a convenient way to access the menu for the day, view nutritional content for products served, and provide feedback to rate menu items.
